For those interested in upgrading your OS to OS X 10.5, we have been testing Brainsight with developer seeds of 10.5 for months, and there are no known issues with the current version of Brainsight, version 1.7.4, and the public release version of Leopard.

A custom addition to Brainsight™ to provide support for the Olivier-Bertrand-Tipal (OBT) stereotactic frame has been developed for the department of neurosurgery at the Montreal Neurological Hospital.

An evaluation of Brainsight™ has been started at the University of San Paulo at Riberao Preto, Brazil to analyse MRI data of patients with intractible epilepsy. In addition, Brainsight™ will be evaluated for its suitability in many other Neurological applications.

An extension to Brainsight™ has been created, Brainsight™ Frameless which enables Brainsight™ to function as an interactive image guided "Frameless" Stereotaxy system for laboratory use. The system has undergone successful trials in the department of Neuropsychology at the Montreal Neurological Institute. Its use is to provide interactive image guidance during positioning of a transcranial magnetic stimulator (TMS) based on MRI derived brain targets, both in an ECG laboratory setting, and in a PET scanner setting.
