Switching the permission off then back on (and relaunching Brainsight) seems to fix this, but then after the next reboot the permission is again forgotten, and so on forever. We believe this is a macOS bug and have reported it to Apple. If this occurs to you, please contact us. At least one user in this situation was able to remedy it by deleting the following file:
/Library/Preferences/com.apple.networkextension.uuidcache.plist
and then rebooting. It’s possible deleting this file might reset other network settings, so should only be tried as a last resort. For other users this has not worked. One last ditch solution is to create an entirely different user account on the Mac, this seems to work reliably but of course is far from ideal.

Starting with macOS 15 Sequoia, macOS now requires that users grant permission to any application that uses the local network.
